...Before you know it, you’re the crazy cat lady in the scary house...

Short entry

Pinball: “It’s terrible! It looks like he was out for a jog in his red velour sweatsuit and decided to drop in on the ball!”

The family dinner went swimmingly. Everybody had a good time eating and chatting and playing with the little ones.

JD was ... um ... rambunctious, as usual. His parents have never made him mind and he is just a terror. I had to unplug the computer, tv and vcr because he would not leave them alone, even after I repeatedly scolded him. His mom thought it was “cute” how he immediately turned on the tv when he got here. Yeah. Cute.

Cousin#5 called in the middle of dinner, which was really cool because she’s in Africa doing missionary work. I think she works in a squatter’s camp and gets people to doctors and takes them meds for AIDS and HIV. She used to work at an orphanage and school for children with HIV/AIDS. We don’t like each other much (I maintain she’s extraordinarily jealous of my extreme cuteness), but I admire what she’s doing and I am proud of her for doing it.

After church Sunday, I spent most of the day e-mailing back and forth with Cousin#4.

Remember, I made all those cookies? I also made some lemon bars and a couple of salads.

Anyway, my original point was that she wanted some recipes and some tips and we e-mailed for almost 3 hours. I suppose I could've phoned her.

Huh.

My movie opened today. In select cities. Select cities which are not in Iowa. Select cities which are not anywhere near Iowa. Well ... Chicago, but that’s 8 hours roundtrip. Why? WHY???? 14 years I have waited for this movie and they dangle it in front of me and rip it away for an entire month!

Damn you, Lloyd Webber! DAMN YOU! CURSE YOU! (see what I did there with the lyrics? w00t!)

I don’t care if the movie is awful -- I want to see a visual representation of the music I so enjoy. I still desperately want to see it on Broadway, but until I marry for money ... Sigh. Someday, I’ll see it as it was meant to be. Someday.

I mean, come on! Seriously. It opens in freaking Australia on the 26th, but I have to drive to Chicago?!?!?!

AAAAAaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh!!!!!

Today has been a crappy day. Another on of those every-little-thing goes wrong.

Ran out of shampoo in the bath, got out to get a new bottle, slipped, knocked my glasses off the counter, stepped on them, did not (wonder of wonders) break them but did bend the crap out of them, caught my hand in the closet door, somehow broke my 50-year-old stereo that I LOVE, burned dinner, fell on and crushed a Christmas present ... every little thing,
